  I was appalled by the austin repat hospitals performance as it took a year and a half for an appointment re the results of a MRI scan in Jan 2016 that my brother had on his back.in the year and a half while waiting for the results my brother suffered unesscerary stress and financial loss as he wasn't able to work or complete a course in which he paid thousands of dollars to do and was half way through but couldn't complete the practical part incase it caused further injury to his back worse case paralysis.so I can understand his frustration yesterday when he was told that all he needs is pysio and that he could have worked and also that the appointment should have been three months after the scan.my brother tried countless times since Jan 2016 to find out about results or an appointment only to be told eventually it would take eighteen months it was frustrating the wait but we all thought that he must need an operation hence the long wait,not been able to work or complete the course so you can understand the frustration to find out that the stress,financial loss,loss of a certificate to lead to work all could've been avoided if someone had made the appointment in three months or that the department could've got back to him with the results.as a health worker myself I understand that hospitals have heavy case loads but all this could've been avoided had someone just done their job properly.
